I’ve just finished reading a book called “Look younger for longer (Easy ways to drop a decade)” by Lesley Ann Reynolds. Patsy Kensit is quoted on the front cover saying “Brilliant Advice, Amazing Results”. I couldn’t resist and got reading straight away.
I found this book easy to read. It starts with the basics diet, exercise, skincare routines etc and I know you’re thinking what’s new here? Why does this merit a review? But then the book goes into some detail about home care/treatments, treatments at the beauty salon and continues on to the dermatologist, specialist clinics and the treatments you can have there, right up to full blown face lifts and other surgical procedures.
What’s different really is that this book takes each area seperately face, neck, boobs, legs, tummy and looks at the DIY fixes that we can do at home and then how to approach further treatments depending on the severity of the problem.
It covers what to look for in beauty products that you can buy over the counter in a department store or pharmacy and how to choose a therapist or a clinic. Its not glitzy and there are no pictures…it just really seems like sensible advice. As the author is a Harley Street Skin Specialist you get the feeling you’re in good hands. Lesley has also tried most of the treatments herself and gives her advice on which treatments she would undergo and which treatments she would avoid, and why. I’ve tried some of her advice on DIY fixes and so far I can definately see results, so I’ll be continuing with her advice and re-reading her DIY fixes for other areas.
Published by Rodale, 2010 the book is £12.99 and if you think you’re interested in reading more, you can purchase this book for the amazing price of £7.92 from Amazon by clicking the link below.
