Have you got a mirror in your home? Is it a full-length one or one for combing your hair in the bathroom? Do you look at yourself in the mirror and regularly check how you look from head to toe?
Many homes don’t have a full-length mirror. Sometimes its because we haven’t got round to buying one, but for some of us its because we just not keen on looking at ourselves. This is one reason that some of us hate shopping for clothes in shops. Trying clothes on, squeezed into a tiny cubicle – too close to a poor quality mirror, harsh lighting, unflattering decoration and it’s no wonder that Internet shopping is so popular.
But even if you hate buying clothes in shops, just because you buy clothes on the Internet doesn’t mean that you don’t need to look in a mirror when trying on new items. You can tell a mile off when someone hasn’t bothered to review how they look!
Sometimes clothes can look great on the hanger but when you put them on they just don’t work. When you look in the mirror you can check if your body is in proportion – is your body evenly balanced between your top and bottom halves? Are you making the most of your good points and minimising your not so good bits? Is the outfit in a good colour for you and does it fit properly?
Good posture is essential and keeps us looking younger, so looking in the mirror can often be a good check to make sure we are standing tall and help us correct any bad habits that we may be getting into.
When you know you look good, you will act with more confidence, which will make you perform better and ultimately help you to become more successful.
